Cory Guzzo is a governmental affairs consultant specializing in multiple industries that include insurance, beverage law, energy, utilities, cable/telecom, financial services, agriculture, gaming and general business issues in the regulatory arena. Cory represents a multitude of clients before the Florida Legislature, Cabinet, and state government agencies and brings with him a wealth of experience and relationships to help advocate on a clients behalf.
Born in Tallahassee and growing up a Seminole fan, Cory chose to attend Florida State University and graduated with high distinction and a degree in Political Science. Cory’s educational background combined with his private and public sector experience provide added expertise and depth to the team of professionals at Floridian Partners.
After graduating from FSU, Cory first spent time working in the private sector for a Fortune 100 Insurance Company, where he gained extensive knowledge and real world experience in the insurance and financial regulation industry.
Cory’s experience doesn’t limit him to just working the halls of the Capitol. He also brings years of experience in the political arena to our Floridian Partners team. He has managed, coordinated and overseen many political campaigns throughout the state of Florida and provides Floridian Partners’ clients with the ability to better fully understand the political climate and landscape in Florida. His experience in political fundraising also helps our clients understand and navigate the ever changing world of political contributions to give our clients a more efficient way of partaking in that process.
Cory also served as the Chief of Staff for Representative Seth McKeel of Lakeland and later Representative Doug Holder of Sarasota. In 2013, Florida Politics named Cory to a distinguished list of the Top 30 Stars in Florida politics.
Cory also previously served in high-level roles with the Republican Party of Florida and before joining Floridian Partners team in 2014, he served as a political director under Speaker Steve Crisafulli’s House Campaigns team.
Cory resides in Tallahassee with his wife Libby who works in government affairs within the Attorney General’s office. When Cory is not being seen working the halls of the Florida Capitol, he can be seen walking the fairways and greens of a golf course or cheering on his beloved Seminoles.
