Robert “Hawk” Hawken

Robert “Hawk” Hawken joined Floridian Partners in 2025, bringing more than three decades of experience in Florida politics and public policy. Since first arriving in Tallahassee in the late 1980s, Hawk has built a reputation as a trusted advocate with strong relationships in legislative leadership and across the Florida Cabinet.

Over the years, he’s become a fixture in Florida’s political scene, even having his own segment on The Florida Channel: “Hanging with Hawk.” He is best known for leading government affairs for FCCI Insurance Group since 1989, providing strategic guidance on policy, legislation, and regulatory matters—first in-house, and later through Leath Consulting, the firm he previously founded. Today, he lobbies for and advises clients across a broad range of industries, including insurance, financial services, tobacco, manufacturing, technology, and nonprofits.

Widely respected for his steady judgment and results-driven approach, Hawk is known for his institutional knowledge, political instincts, and ability to be in the room when final negotiations unfold on some of Florida’s most consequential issues.

A native of Michigan, Hawk holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Western Michigan University. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife, Michelle, and their four children, and enjoys returning to Michigan as often as possible.
